Work and life in general are keeping me plenty busy lately so I’ve neglected pretty much all my hobbies, this blog among them… Lots of stuff happening around the web in the last few weeks… Microsoft buying a chunk of Facebook… Google getting more active in the mobile industry… Talking about Google, they’re now the [...]
Wow has it really been over a month and a half since I last spent some quality time surfing the web? I guess that goes to show how busy a fall this has been. Just got back from Europe, and still feeling a little jet lagged. I’ll have to do some blog maintenance in the [...]
Man the last few weeks have been busy… Been all over the place, and it feels like today is the first day I kinda slowed down – due to a flu that kept me in bed most of the day. I hate being sick.
I just left Nuremberg. It’s always impressive to be in places were history was made, and there sure was plenty of history made in this city – such as the Nuremberg Trials after World War II, for example.
I spent last week at the gorgeous Desert Springs Resort in Palm Desert (for work, I swear!). This place is pretty amazing… A 436 acre property with an 18 acre man-made lake… The lake actually extends into the lobby of the hotel, where you can board little boats that take you out on the lake [...]
Spent the weekend in Las Vegas, which was a blast as usual and made even better by a fun Super Bowl party… Go Colts! Part of the fun was, of course, watching the Super Bowl commercials. There were some pretty funny ones, but overall I thought last year’s were better…
Here’s a good article on the early-morning routines of some successful business leaders. There’s no doubt that a little discipline in the morning will go a long way… I currently get up at 5:45 and leave for work at around 6:30, but that’s about it as far as routine is concerned. I’ll make myself go [...]
Life’s good. Received a promotion, which means more work, but also new and interesting challenges. Which made me realize once again – I like change. Life becomes too boring if things don’t change… Stagnation is a killer. Well, off to dinner… and maybe a movie.
I just got back from India last night where I spent an amazing two weeks with good friends. I’m tired, jet lagged, have a cold, and mountains of work after my vacation, but other than that, life’s good! India was an absolutely amazing experience, something words can’t convey very well… more on that plus pics [...]
I was in Monterey on Sunday/Monday to take a business partner out on the incredible Links At Spanish Bay golf course. It doesn’t get much better than this. The course is gorgeous, perfectly manicured with ocean views on most of the holes. It is brutally difficult though – we sure got our money’s worth…
Man, I can’t believe it’s Thanksgiving again. This year has gone by way too fast… But then again – woohoo, it’s Thanksgiving!! Food, food, and more food. Yum. And a four day weekend. Oh, and of course Black Friday is here again! I’m sure I’ll find something or other.
It’s time to get a new laptop again. I’m switching from my beloved and rugged IBM ThinkPad T40 to the T60 (now manufactured by Lenovo). While I love the idea of better performance and new features (like the Integrated Fingerprint Reader), I’m not looking forward to transferring all my data and programs and reconfiguring all [...]
I am so excited! The plans for my vacation in India are finally taking shape, and going through the wonderful 1140-page Lonely Planet guide is making me all giddy… So far, our plans include Delhi, Agra, and Rajasthan… we’ll see what else we can fit in. In the meantime, I’m going to brush up on [...]
Well, I’m back home. A mountain of bills and other mail awaited me at home last weekend, and my workplace looks like you’d expect (Hurricane Katrina comes to mind). I spent part of the weekend going through some 600 emails that I had only casually glanced at during my trip despite the ever-present CrackBerry. Ahh, [...]
So I’m still traveling. Feels like I haven’t been home in ages. After meetings in Vienna, Duesseldorf, and Eindhoven, I’ve found myself in Paris for the last few days. Nothing like a late night cab ride along the river Seine in the “city of light” – pure beauty. Of course, riding the infamous Metro (a.k.a. [...]
