I just went through some pictures from last year and realized once again how lucky I am to be able to have so many amazing vacations…. And now it’s time to make some plans for 2012! Can’t wait to create more beautiful memories with the people that I love :)

Just got back from an amazing Christmas/New Year’s vacation in Germany. I’m exhausted from traveling & lack of sleep but excited about 2012! I think it will be a great year :)

Settling back in after my London trip… laundry, catching up on work, catching up with friends, oil change, helping a friend write a business proposal, errands… The weekend was too short as usual.

Woohoo, I finally upgraded my WordPress installation! This wasn’t exactly rocket science, but it wasn’t trivial either. At least I don’t think my grandma could have done it :)

After running some SQL database commands to batch delete all spam comments (what a pain), I went through WordPress’ upgrade process. Of course, only after backing up my WordPress database and files, just in case.

So that made for a late evening, and yet more clean up work is necessary. For now, I have also removed a bunch of old links to sites that I either don’t read anymore or that don’t exist anymore. I’m going to tinker around with some new plugins and the overall design of the site as well. Time to refresh my memory on PhP and CSS…

… I will actually get around to cleaning up my blog, installing the latest version of WordPress, deleting all the spam comments, installing a new and effective Captcha, etc.

And once that is done, I’ll start blogging again :)

The Holidays

Been shopping for Christmas gifts for the last 7 days or so. It’s ridiculous how much money I’ve spent already. But hey, money seems so trivial when you can make your loved ones happy no?

I am such a sucker for this whole Holiday season, regardless of all the commercialization and the stress that this time of year can bring… I love how everybody is in such a cheerful mood, everything’s decorated, you hear Christmas carols everywhere…

Wow has it really been over a month and a half since I last spent some quality time surfing the web? I guess that goes to show how busy a fall this has been. Just got back from Europe, and still feeling a little jet lagged. I’ll have to do some blog maintenance in the next few days, the spam comments are killing me. I’m amazed at how much crap still gets through despite the captcha I built into the comments function. Maybe I’ll have to replace the current with a new, more effective captcha.

Anyways, more rambling to come soon.

26 Miles

Alright, I’m on a mission. My goal is the 2008 Los Angeles Marathon. I’ve got about six and a half months to get in shape.

I’ve never run a marathon before, and something tells me I might regret this…. 26 miles of non-stop running? Right now 6 miles seems like a lot….

But in a slightly masochistic way, I’m very excited about this. It’s good to put your body to the test.
