…get into the postcard business. It can’t be that hard :) Here’s another shot from my trip. Click for full size.
I spent last week in Guatemala, which is a paradise for photographers (that is, of course, if you disregard the fact that crime is completely out of control and you have to be really careful not to get robbed/stabbed/shot because someone wants your camera). To me, Guatemala has always been the country of colors. Markets, [...]
This weekend, the port in my hometown of Hamburg, Germany is celebrating its 818th birthday. Quite well aged I would say! Wish I could be there, there’s always lots of fun to be had.
I love stuff like this dynamic display of global income distribution and life expectancy. Check out China’s development from the mid 70′s until now – pretty impressive… And it doesn’t seem like it’s going to slow down anytime soon. The US, in the meantime, seems to stand out thanks to other metrics…
Here’s a small selection of pics from my recent trip to India. I’m still amazed by the colorful stories behind places like the Agra Fort, Qutub Minar, the Amber Palace, or Fatehpur Sikri… Unfortunately, pictures can’t do justice to the beauty of buildings like Akshardham, the Lotus Temple, and of course the Taj Mahal… But [...]
Ok, I really need to start going through all my pictures (literally hundreds of them) and sort them before I forget what is what… Here’s one of my favorites – the classic shot of the Taj Mahal. This place is just unbelievable.
I just got back from India last night where I spent an amazing two weeks with good friends. I’m tired, jet lagged, have a cold, and mountains of work after my vacation, but other than that, life’s good! India was an absolutely amazing experience, something words can’t convey very well… more on that plus pics [...]
The US and Russia have reached an agreement to shut down Russia-based allofmp3.com, a controversial music download site. This is obviously part of a larger push to bring intellectual property rights in line with WTO standards as Russia aspires to join the WTO next year. It’ll be interesting to see how effectively Russia can address [...]
I am so excited! The plans for my vacation in India are finally taking shape, and going through the wonderful 1140-page Lonely Planet guide is making me all giddy… So far, our plans include Delhi, Agra, and Rajasthan… we’ll see what else we can fit in. In the meantime, I’m going to brush up on [...]
As was to be expected, Saddam Hussein was convicted and sentenced to death. Now the case will be reviewed by the appellate court.
Well, I’m back home. A mountain of bills and other mail awaited me at home last weekend, and my workplace looks like you’d expect (Hurricane Katrina comes to mind). I spent part of the weekend going through some 600 emails that I had only casually glanced at during my trip despite the ever-present CrackBerry. Ahh, [...]
So I’m still traveling. Feels like I haven’t been home in ages. After meetings in Vienna, Duesseldorf, and Eindhoven, I’ve found myself in Paris for the last few days. Nothing like a late night cab ride along the river Seine in the “city of light” – pure beauty. Of course, riding the infamous Metro (a.k.a. [...]
The last week has been a bit of a blur…. from Cancun to California to Stockholm to Munich and now stopping over in Hamburg to spend a beautiful weekend with my family and friends. I wish there were more weekends like this. I took this shot at night in Stockholm, the city is just so [...]
Aaahhhh…. Just got back from Cancun, and I have to say I’m in love with that place. It’s so hard to return to the real world after spending a week in paradise… I’m headed to Europe right now but I’ll be posting some Cancun pics soon-ish. In the meantime, I’m going to try to catch [...]
Boy the last two weeks have been busy… time’s just flying. Can’t believe it’s almost October. Had a blast in Las Vegas last weekend. Good friends, good food, good nightlife, and of course, the occasional game of poker or blackjack… For some reason, Vegas and sleep deprivation just go hand in hand… But not to [...]
