I saw this nice bottle of 2004 Chateau Petrus at a store last weekend. Tempting… But the price was not so tempting :)
Turkey pot pie and a glass or two of a nice Tuscany red, Argiano’s 2009 Non Confunditur (which, by the way, is in 46th place on Wine Spectator’s Top 100 Wines for 2011). Yum.
I tend to purchase wines that, roughly speaking, fall into the following categories: everyday wines, once-a-week wines, once-a-month wines. My everyday wines are good values that don’t break the bank – good wines at a good price. The once-a-week wines tend to be higher in price but still reasonable – very good wines at adequate [...]
I love Duckhorn wines… And this one was particularly delicious. As much as I like to explore the variety of wines the world has to offer, a good Napa Cab is just hard to beat. Hmm come to think of it, I could really do more posts about wine, considering how many bottles I go [...]
This image is nothing special from a photography standpoint, but I like it for a simple reason: it combines three elements that to me can make any day a special day: good food, good wine, and, most importantly, good company. When the flavors of fresh ingredients combine with the complex aromas of a good wine, [...]

That Tanqueray Rangpur looks delicious… yum. It’s been out for a while now, but I haven’t had the pleasure. Gotta give it a try sometime soon.
I have a love affair with chillies and anything spicy, so stuff like this “Ghost Chili” gets me excited… 1,001,304 Scoville Heat Units! That’s about one hundred times as hot as your average Jalapeno. I wonder how big a piece of this chili one could comfortably eat?
We celebrated our friend Cheryl’s birthday last Saturday and had a wonderful dinner at Splashes in beautiful Laguna Beach. This is the view from our dinner table… you can’t ask for much more than that!
Allrecipes.com rocks – it’s the perfect recipe site for a bachelor like myself. It has a vast universe of recipes, and I love how you can search based on ingredients you’d like to use as well as those you don’t want to use. So how about some spicy Tom Ka Gai soup? Yum yum yum…
I think I’ve somehow always know this, but a new study provides proof that capsaicin does indeed kill prostate cancer cells. Good thing I threw out only one of my five chili sauces…
OK, I surrender. I tried, I really did. I have a wide assortment of chili sauces at home and generally love to eat very hot food. So some time last year, I came across a sauce called Dave’s Ultimate Insanity Sauce and thought I’d add it to my collection. Let me tell you, that sauce [...]
