I’m busy as hell lately and love to complain about that, but then when I see pictures like these, things are put into perspective. I don’t have problems, my life is good. I have a roof over my head, food, and many other luxuries. I am blessed.

What these people have to go through is heartbreaking…

AllofMP3.Com Being Shut Down

The US and Russia have reached an agreement to shut down Russia-based allofmp3.com, a controversial music download site. This is obviously part of a larger push to bring intellectual property rights in line with WTO standards as Russia aspires to join the WTO next year. It’ll be interesting to see how effectively Russia can address its massive IPR issues.

Midterm Elections

Wow. Big things happening in US politics. House and Senate taken by the Democrats. Rumsfeld gone. This is going to be interesting… Although with such a slim majority in the Senate for the Dems, there’s still going to be plenty of gridlock.

What really amazes me is the 40% voter turnout. That is so sad. 60% of people apparently don’t care how this country is governed. That’s a lot of people. Way too many actually.

Saddam Convicted

As was to be expected, Saddam Hussein was convicted and sentenced to death. Now the case will be reviewed by the appellate court.

Paradise

Aaahhhh…. Just got back from Cancun, and I have to say I’m in love with that place. It’s so hard to return to the real world after spending a week in paradise…

I’m headed to Europe right now but I’ll be posting some Cancun pics soon-ish.

In the meantime, I’m going to try to catch up on all the news I missed while being disconnected… A lot can happen in one week – like Google buying YouTube for $1.65 billion, North Korea testing a nuclear bomb…

Woohoo! 4:2 !! Gooooo Germany!

Now that’s what I call a fun opening game. Fast-paced, lots of goals… and Germany winning of course :)

I just hope the much (and justly) criticized German defense will improve or otherwise we’ll be in for some surprises…

Ok, so Wednesday we’ll be playing Poland. I’m thinking Germany will win 3:2.
