Here’s a good article on the early-morning routines of some successful business leaders. There’s no doubt that a little discipline in the morning will go a long way…
I currently get up at 5:45 and leave for work at around 6:30, but that’s about it as far as routine is concerned. I’ll make myself go running once in a while, but not nearly as often as I should. I usually read little news in the morning (I spend plenty of time reading news at night). Bottom line – I think there’s a whole lot of room for improvement in my early-morning routine. So here’s my resolution for 2007 – I’ll try to get up just a bit earlier, say 5:15 to 5:30. I’ll establish more of a routine. Go running for at least 25 minutes every morning. Spend at least 20 minutes reading news before work. Have a healthy breakfast every morning (I don’t really have any breakfast at all these days).
This is going to take some discipline, but I think it’ll feel pretty damn good. Early bird catches the worm and all.
