9 Out of 10 Emails Are Spam

Posted on Tuesday 28 November 2006

This is getting ridiculous. It seems to be true; I’ve been getting so much friggin’ spam over the last few weeks it’s not even funny. After a nice four-day Thanksgiving weekend, my inbox at work is completed drowned in spam. I’m not sure who I should be more upset with: the idiot spammers that use botnets of hundreds of thousands of compromised computers to bestow upon us gems like “shiny trans gender fetish”, or the idiot users that actually open, read, and respond to spam, thereby creating a market for this crap. Oh, and while they’re at it, they’ll open some unknown attachment and get their computers infected, making it part of one botnet or other. Sigh.

Ok, I feel better now.
